A Child Again - Duplex

Say it isn’t so, Momma, rock me slowly, ease the pain.
Wipe the teardrops from my eyes, let me be a child again.
Wipe the teardrops from my heart. A grown up child is hard to be.
Those sunny skies have turned to rain. Hold me close and comfort me.
Hold me close and let me be, let me be a child again.
Tell me I’m your little man. Sing me now the old refrain.
Sing me now to ease my brain. If I should die before I wake,
let me be a child again. I’m kneeling low beside the stone.
I’m kneeling low to pray you home. I pray the Lord your soul to take.
I soon must go and you remain. Oh let me be a child again.
I soon must go and you remain. I leave you sleeping in the rain.
If only I could take you home to let me be a child again.
Let me be a child again, your chatty little scatterbrain.
Say it isn’t so, Momma, rock me slowly, ease the pain.
