ARTIST STATEMENT & ETHICAL POSITION

I identify first and foremost as a photographer and visual artist. My creative enterprise focuses on artistic research and long-term observation of contemporary cities and societies. Through photography and visual storytelling, I explore urban environments as social, philosophical, and ethical spaces rather than aesthetic objects. My practice draws from documentary and conceptual photography and is shaped by direct engagement, sustained attention, and research-based processes. I approach photography as a method of inquiry — a tool for understanding transformation, memory, spirituality, and everyday life within rapidly changing urban contextsOver time, my engagement with contemporary art led me to a critical realization: much of it has become driven by excess, provocation, and repetition, often losing its connection to sincerity, human dignity, and genuine presence. This realization did not result in rejection, but in a return — toward clarity, honesty, and care. I began to understand art not as a space for constant shock, but as a field of trust and attentiveness. For me, art is not an escape from reality, but a way of remaining close to it and accountable to what exists.I work with contemporary photographic tools and digital technologies not as means of excess, but as instruments of precision and conscious choice. Technology in my practice serves the process of seeing more attentively, shaping images thoughtfully, and engaging the viewer with respect.Responsibility in my work influences not only what is shown, but also what is intentionally left unseen. I avoid exploitation, sensationalism, and visual overload, prioritizing dignity, calmness, and depth. This approach allows the work to remain open and accessible while preserving seriousness and intellectual honesty. For me, the role of the artist is not to shock, but to observe carefully, reflect deeply, and communicate with integrity. Ultimately, my artistic position seeks to reconnect contemporary visual practice with responsibility, cultural awareness, and human presence, allowing art to function as a constructive and thoughtful force within society.
